Vanessa VanZee, Director of Nursing


Vanessa Van Zee, RN is the Director of Nursing at Maggie’s House.  She grew up in Moline, Illinois and was raised by her grandparents.  Before becoming a registered nurse, she worked at Medical Arts doing phlebotomy for many years.  At age 28, she married and decided to return to college for her nursing degree.  She worked at Mercy Medical Hospital on the medical/surgical floor after graduating. Theresa Colvin, Activities Director


Theresa Colvin has worked at Maggie’s House since 2012 as a Caregiver and has taken on a new role as Activities Director.  Theresa grew up in Lowden, Iowa and graduated from North Cedar High School in 2004.  A short time after that, she started her career in care-giving for people.  She just remodeled the house she grew up in and moved back to Lowedn, after living in DeWitt for 11 years.  Theresa has two children, James and Bailey. John Ihns, Dietary Manager


John is the Dietary Manager for Maggie’s House Assisted Living.  John has been in food service since 1990.  He managed a local restaurant for 14 years and has been with Maggie’s House for 11 years.  Meatloaf, lasagna, and baked desserts are his favorite things to cook.  John has a sweet tooth and is known for his delicious bread pudding.  John is an avid antique collector.  He collects Fenton Glass, antique furniture and picture frames.  His friendly personality and enthusiasm for […]
